Whitney Michiels
VP, Neuroscience External Innovation Johnson & Johnson
As Vice President, External Innovation for the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area (NS TA), Whitney leads the prioritization, implementation and integration of early-stage external innovation strategy. Working closely with colleagues across the NS TA, External Scientific Innovation, JJDC and Business Development, she strategically builds the internal Discovery pipeline with high-quality innovation and partnerships. Whitney also serves as lead for both West Coast North America and APAC opportunities and chairs the External Innovation Partnering Committee (EIPC).
Since joining Johnson & Johnson in 2021, she has been instrumental in shaping the Neuroscience TA strategy, advancing external innovation, and lead the Intra-Cellular Therapies (ITCI) integration for J&J IM. She has driven portfolio prioritization, executed strategic collaborations and transactions, and enhanced governance to support portfolio advancement.
Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Whitney held clinical and business development leadership roles across several biotech and pharmaceutical organizations. Whitney has an MBA from Duke University and majored in Neuroscience at Scripps College.
